Hello everybody! Welcome back to my blog. The purpose of this blog is to help people find their way to a healthier lifestyle. I mostly talk about exercise and its science, which is my area of expertise, but I also talk about nutrition, sleeping habits and many other subjects related to wellbeing and healthy lifestyle.
Today’s post comes a little bit later because it is about my experience back to participating in running events. Last Sunday, 5 of December, I had my first running event after three years and a hernia surgery that I had in May this year.

Everything started when I made one of the best decisions I have ever made work-wise: joining Vision Baulkham Hills as a Personal Trainer (well, at the moment I am still a rookie). The first week, this is 6 weeks ago, my trainer and co-worker Hayden persuaded me to join them in the 10 k, and I therefore persuaded my husband Harry to do it with me, without whom I couldn’t have survived!
After such a long time not preparing for any type of race, we weren’t expecting to run 10 kilometres too fast, although we surprised ourselves finishing the race in less under 50 minutes, 49’ and 11” was the result.
The environment was awesome, just as it used to be in Spain but without the nice Spanish music, though my AirPods fixed that little issue. Despite the fact that I don’t really enjoy running under the rain, I was thankful the weather was nice and cool, and it eventually stopped raining.
The best of the race itself, apart from running with my hubby, was the awesome views of the city. Sydney is my favourite city in the world (or at least the south hemisphere) and going through some of the iconic bits of the city was really amazing.

But the most wonderful part of the day was sharing some time together with my awesome teammates and some of the clients. Although we missed a couple of them, it was really good to share the experience with them and end up having a nice breakfast at Pancakes on the Rocks.

I consider myself very lucky to have such a great group of people to work with, live with, and share many more moments like this together!
